“As we prepared to build a home for ourselves that we had been planning for about 10 years, we knew we wanted a builder who would build a house for us the way we would build it. Nick showed us his own home which he had built and we discussed the philosophy of building – using only the best materials, continuing to work on the project once it was started, exercising quality craftsmanship, and working with owners who wanted to be involved without doing the actual building.

Nick never had a problem returning materials that he would not put in his own home; although this sometimes delayed progress by a day, it was the right way to build a home. Once he started, he did not leave the job to do other projects; he stayed on our home until he had completed the portion that he was working on. Nick did not mind us stopping by to see how progress was going and to discuss issues; some builders feel the project is “their turf” and will not discuss issues; we never had this problem. Challenges were not a problem for Nick; joining a traditional timberframe portion to a stickbuilt section was new to him, but he worked well with the timberframer; two craftsmen working their art.
